As a long-term care worker, it is common to encounter challenging behaviors from clients. This training course aims to provide guidance on how to effectively manage and navigate these situations, with a focus on addressing behaviors that may range from negative to threatening or dangerous.

These behaviors may include verbal actions such as yelling or name-calling, as well as physical actions such as hitting or biting.

As a long-term care worker, it is common to encounter challenging behaviors from clients. This training course aims to provide guidance on how to effectively manage and navigate these situations, with a focus on addressing behaviors that may range from negative to threatening or dangerous.

These behaviors may include verbal actions such as yelling or name-calling, as well as physical actions such as hitting or biting.

While it is ultimately the responsibility of the client to control their behavior to the best of their ability, this training will provide strategies for care team members to assist in preventing or minimizing the occurrence of negative or challenging behaviors.

This course is WA DSHS approved & includes 3 total hours of the following training:

This is an online course that uses zoom lectures. You will receive additional course information via email once registered.

This course is designed for the following LTC workers:

Most Long-Term Care workers must complete 12 hours of Continuing Education (CE) each year before their birthday. For information about your specific CE requirements, please refer to the DSHS CE Requirements Chart.

  • Long term care worker – a person paid to provide direct care, a caregiver.

  • CE Hours – The 12 hours of CE required each year by your birthday.
