PROGRAM OVERVIEW

COMPREHENSIVE HCA TRAINING

The Home Care Aide Program is designed to prepare students with the essential knowledge and practical caregiving skills needed to provide safe, respectful, person-centered care.

Throughout the program, students learn how to assist clients with activities of daily living, maintain a safe care environment, prevent infection, communicate effectively, document care, protect client rights, and demonstrate professionalism in a caregiving role.

Take the first step by registering for our Enrollment Information Session. During the session, you'll learn about program requirements, training schedules, tuition, policies, and the enrollment process.

Students who are ready to join the October cohort will also have the opportunity to complete the required enrollment steps.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

Build the Skills to Provide Safe, Compassionate Care.

The HCA curriculum covers essential competencies used by caregivers in home and community-based care environments, including:

  • • Basic caregiving skills
    • Personal care and assistance with daily living
    • Safety and emergency procedures
    • Infection control and prevention
    • Effective communication
    • Documentation and reporting
    • Client and resident rights
    • Cultural competency
    • Ethics and professional conduct

Students learn not only what to do, but how to perform caregiving responsibilities safely, respectfully, accurately, and professionally.

HANDS-ON SKILLS LAB

Learn It Online. Practice It In Person.

Knowing caregiving concepts is only part of becoming a capable Home Care Aide. The program includes 16 hours of required in-person Skills Lab training where students receive hands-on instruction, practice essential HCA skills, and demonstrate competency.

To successfully complete the Skills Lab, students must:

  • Attend all 16 hours of Skills Lab training

  • Demonstrate safe and competent performance

  • Complete the entire HCA Skills Checklist

  • Successfully pass all required skills

  • Demonstrate the safety, accuracy, and professionalism expected of an entry-level Home Care Aide

Attendance for all Skills Lab hours is mandatory.

All costs required to complete the Home Care Aide (HCA) Program are listed below:

  • HCA Program Tuition: $900 - includes $100 registration fee (refundable per WAC 490-105-130 & in accordance with the Sarr Care Academy published Refund Policy.)

  • Sales Tax: Calculated at checkout

Total Tuition: $900 + applicable sales tax

Home Care Aide (HCA) Program - Total Student Cost: Your final tuition, sales tax, and total contract price will be clearly displayed on your Enrollment Agreement before you sign.
